Biomechanics · Orthotics · Shepperton
Heel pain that bites on your first run, shin splints that won't settle, a knee that only hurts when you train? As a sports podiatrist in Shepperton, Aaron Bhangra finds the root cause in how your foot and lower limb actually move — then fixes it with a targeted plan and, where they'll help, custom orthotics.
Price from £90
Biomechanical / sports assessment from £90. Custom orthotics quoted separately after assessment. Exact fee confirmed when you book.
Most running and sports injuries aren't really about the spot that hurts — they're about load. If your foot rolls in too far, your calf is tight, or your hip control is poor, the tissue that gives way (your plantar fascia, Achilles, shin or knee) is just the weakest link in that chain. Aaron's background is in lower-limb biomechanics and sports rehabilitation, so instead of only treating the symptom he works out why the load landed there — and changes it. That's the difference between an injury that keeps recurring and one that genuinely resolves.
You'll be assessed standing, walking and — where relevant — running, so we can see how your foot, ankle, knee and hip work together under real load. Aaron checks joint range, muscle strength and control, and uses gait analysis to spot the pattern driving your pain. You leave understanding exactly what's happening and with a plan: that might be strengthening and load management, footwear advice, or custom orthotics prescribed to your feet — not off-the-shelf insoles.
Whether you're training for a half-marathon along the Thames path, playing weekend football, or just want to keep walking and running pain-free, the approach is the same: find the mechanical cause, address it, and get you back to activity without flaring it up. Aaron sees active patients from Shepperton, Sunbury-on-Thames, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge and the wider Elmbridge and Spelthorne area.
How it works
Full lower-limb biomechanical exam plus gait analysis — standing, walking and running as needed.
We identify the mechanical cause of your pain, not just the painful tissue.
A tailored plan: loading and strength work, footwear advice, and custom orthotics if they'll help.
We track progress and adjust, so the injury resolves rather than recurs.
Questions
A routine appointment focuses on the skin and nails of the foot. A sports / biomechanical assessment looks at how your whole lower limb moves and loads — it's the right appointment for running injuries, heel pain, shin splints and recurring sports niggles.
No. Orthotics are one tool, not the default answer. Many people improve with load management, strengthening and footwear changes. If custom orthotics will genuinely help, Aaron will explain why and prescribe them to your feet — but they're never sold as a routine add-on.
A biomechanical / sports assessment starts from £90. If custom orthotics are recommended, they're quoted separately after the assessment so you can decide with full information. Exact fees are confirmed when you book.
Common ones include plantar fasciitis (heel pain), Achilles pain, shin splints, forefoot pain, running-related knee pain, and recurring ankle problems — plus foot pain that's affecting your gait.
